The new, 100% virtual financial planning and wealth management firm aims to inspire and guide motivated individuals to design the lives and legacies they deserve.
New York, NY/Washington, DC: A partnership years in the making, trailblazing financial advisors Lazetta Rainey Braxton and Rianka R. Dorsainvil announced they have combined practices to form a new fully-virtual firm, 2050 Wealth Partners. The new partnership seeks to create an alternative financial planning experience anchored in a culturally competent and joyful approach to money that honors the mosaic of the American population.
2050 WPs aims to set a new precedent for financial planning firms by helping create a liberated world where people build and share wealth by being their full selves.
Both partners came together with the desire to align with a like-minded CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ Professional (CFP®) who shares a deep commitment, care and passion for their clients. Rooted in both their professional acumen and personal bond, Braxton and Dorsainvil found a unique opportunity to form 2050WPs as a family business that balances work and play, the partners say.
“For me, I never wanted to build a practice alone. However, I was going to wait until I found the right person that aligned with the values, the joy, the passion that I have for serving clients. I found that in Lazetta,” Dorsainvil says. “When partnership is done right, you can bring your best self and full self to the table … just knowing Lazetta, her spirit, the care that she has for her clients, the passion she has for our profession and the financial services industry as a whole aligned with mine. I’m not afraid to be my authentic self.”
The demographics of the wealth management industry do not reflect the reality of the American population: less than 4% of CFP®s are people of color. Only 23% are women. As two women of color, Braxton and Dorsainvil bring an emphasis on age, generational, gender and racial diversity to their partnership. 2050WPs is uniquely situated to elevate awareness and take action in establishing diversity, equity and inclusion in the financial planning world. The partners aim to move away from the assimilation and lip service prevalent in the industry — instead driving towards creating a culture that celebrates differences.
“I give Rianka a lot of credit for this vision, and I’ve always enjoyed working with her on industry-related projects. We realized that we come at things differently, yet still end up at the same place: Elevating other people, whether it’s colleagues or the people that we serve as clients,” Braxton says. “It makes sense for us to come together as a united, powerful force. There’s alignment spiritually; we can talk freely about who we are individually and collectively. I believe the stars are aligned. It’s fulfilling to serve others when you work with someone who brings strengths that compliment you well. This partnership — and everything we do — is rooted in our commitment to the same beliefs.”
Both advisors will bring years of experience into the business, as well as their focus on advocacy for diversity, equity and inclusion in the wealth management industry. By the year 2050, people of color will make up the majority of the U.S. population. Braxton and Dorsainvil are committed to making holistic planning accessible to clients beyond the status quo. 2050WPs will focus on providing ongoing wealth management and comprehensive planning services for four core client profiles:
Clients transitioning from employees to entrepreneurs
First-generation wealth-builders
Thriving professionals
Sandwich generation wealth-protectors
The themes at the core of 2050 Wealth Partners’ mission are perhaps best emphasized by its logo: The two 0’s in 2050 are interlocking yet broken chains representing freedom and liberty. The two and the five have each a piece of the semicolon, a symbol of survival and continuity, representing more greatness to come — the story is not finished. Through their partnership, Braxton and Dorsainvil aim to help clients design the future of their wealth stories.
